First Ice Bar Opens in Croatia

The Onofrio Ice Bar officially opened in the southern Dalmatian city of Dubrovnik on Sunday, with ice sculptures of a number of Dubrovnik iconic symbols marking the occasion. Visitors are given waterproof winter jackets upon entry to the bar to keep them warm in the minus 5 temperatures inside the bar. The ice bar concept, where the bulk of the interior, including the bar and seating is made from ice, has been a successful one and can be found in such cities as Barcelona, Boston, Amsterdam, London, Lyon, New York City, Paris, Athens, Saint Tropez, Seoul, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Tokyo, Thailand, Copenhagen, Surfers Paradise, Budapest and Dubai.
