First in Europe as Zagreb Trams gets Own Radio Station

Passengers on city trams and buses in the Croatian capital will soon have music and news to keep them company on their daily journeys when Radio Zagreb Electronic Trams (ZET) kicks off in a few weeks.

Zagreb will become the first city in Europe where its public transport system has its own radio station with an informative programme. “Radio ZET will be broadcast in over 200 trams and in 400 buses when it goes live to air in the middle of October,” said ZET spokesmen Tomislav Juric.

The station will broadcast live from 7 to 9am in the morning and from 3 to 5pm in the afternoons where traffic is at its peak, with regular updates during the day, writes Croatian website Tportal.
