The Sri Lankan Curry Bowl

The Sri Lankan Curry Bowl

Lovers of international cuisine living or visiting the Croatian capital Zagreb now have another option…

Indian, Lebanese, Turkish, Russian and Korean eateries are recent additions, and now the first Sri Lankan restaurant in the country has opened in Zagreb.

The Sri Lankan Curry Bowl, run by two Sri Lankan brothers and located on the happening Tkalčićeva ulica in downtown Zagreb, has only just opened its doors. The restaurant offers a number of traditional Sri Lankan dishes at a reasonable price.

Dishes on the menu include Kotthu Chicken (36,00 kn), Devile’d Beef (39,00 kn), and Curry Chicken (39,00 kn). Opening reviews have been decent.

“I never had Sri Lankan food before and I am from Los Angeles – home to a huge population of Sri Lankan expats… I am in Zagreb on holiday and my friend took me here because he raved about it.. I was uneasy about coming to Zagreb and eating Sri Lankan food but boy was I blown away by the intense flavor of my chicken curry! It took me back to my favorite pakistani dish called nihari.. the flavors were fresh and everyone there was so generous and hospitable! Cant wait to come back again.”

“Big like! Chicken Kothu was delicious, it has very interesting ingredients but the best part is that you can actually watch how your food is being prepared.”

Wrote a couple early reviewers.
