First stunt festival in Europe to be held in Croatia

The “Stunt Festival – 3, 2, 1 Action!” is set to take place in Croatia. The film heroes who bring action scenes to life are coming to Karlovac and Duga Resa on May 24th and 25th. 

For the first time in Croatia, and almost anywhere outside the USA, the public will get a glimpse into the world of stunt work at the two-day festival.

Spectacular action scenes that you are used to seeing on small and big screens will unfold right before your eyes. Performers will showcase their stunts – high falls, fire burns, choreographed fights, falls, and vehicle stunts.

You’ll get to learn how one becomes a stunt performer and what a stunt person’s life looks like. All stunts will be performed by trained professionals, and for safety reasons, visitors should not attempt to perform them on their own.

The program will feature 17 international participants, and awards will be given for the best stunts in both male and female categories.

Participants include: three-time Taurus World Stunt Award winner Carl Stück from Germany, world-renowned stunt coordinator and action producer Rok Cvetkov from Slovenia, versatile and globally recognized stunt coordinator and assistant action director Darko Tuškan, and stunt coordinator and actor with extensive international experience Goran Stjepanović, both from Croatia.

Together with the multi-award-winning director Kristijan Milić, they form the expert jury that will select the best stunt in the male and female categories. 

To be more precise – these are individuals who have contributed to films like The Matrix, Mission Impossible, Justice League, Street Fighter, Race to Witch Mountain, Dunkirk, Shanghai Knights, Schindler’s List, The Patriot, The Expendables, Game of Thrones, Cobra 11, and many other titles.

There will be no shortage of real adrenaline excitement and positivity. With direct contact with the performers, the audience will experience an extraordinary event and true movie magic.

The festival is organized by Kino Edison from Karlovac in collaboration with one of Croatia’s most experienced stuntmen, Željko Matovina.

By bringing together the stunt community and filmmakers, the festival aims to highlight the importance of the stunt profession in the film industry, boost the development of stunt work in Croatia, encourage film collaborations, and promote Karlovac, Karlovac County, and all of Croatia as attractive locations for the film industry.
