ZAGREB, Aug 16 (Hina) – This year’s VukovArt street festival will be held under the slogan “Give Me 5” from 22 August to 5 September and will host some of the most famous world street artists.
As the announcement underscored, the VukovArt project was launched as a new concept in art development with the goal of shaping Vukovar’s new visual identity. Eighteen works of street art, created over the past three years by ten superb mural artists and six artists specialised in 3D anamorphic art, made Vukovar a recognizable open-air gallery, even outside Croatia.
This year’s festival’s slogan is “Give Me 5” because of the five new international artists who will paint on the façades of five Vukovar buildings: OKO (Croatia), Tea Jurisic (Croatia), Boogie (Switzerland), Eugen Varzic (Croatia) and Arsek & Erase (Bulgaria).
Other activities on the festival’s programme include bicycle races, lectures, workshops, concert, panel discussions and exhibitions.
Cooperation has been established with the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek, so there will also be student exhibitions and performances.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, the 2nd Vukovar semi-marathon will be held as a virtual event this year.
The project holder is the City of Vukovar, and it was co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund. All activities can be followed on VukovArt’s Facebook page, Instagram, Youtube channel and website.
