The Croatian army is on standby and local authorities are preparing also for the possibility that local residents in the Sisak-Moslavina County may have to be evacuated later this week after high water levels in rivers and streams are forecast this week. A state of emergency was declared in parts of Croatia after massive flooding hit the nation last week, and the second bout of flooding is being taken seriously by authorities. Water levels measured record highs last Wednesday morning and the capital Zagreb recorded record rainfall in a 24 hour period.
