Protection and Rescue teams are out in effected areas today as more than 600 homes are under threat from the flood wave in the regions of Velika Gorica, Vrbovac, Ivanić-Grad, Dugo Selo, Sv. Ivan Zelina, Gradec, Rakovec, Farkaševec, Pisarovina, Orle, Pokupsko and Brckovljani. Water levels in Poljanski Lug measured a record 622cm on Wednesday morning, with floods expected to reach their peak this afternoon in the Zagreb region as firefighters and rescue teams continue with emergency flood protection measures.
Record rainfall fell in the Zagreb region on Monday, with 90.9mm falling at the Zagreb international airport, the most in a 24-hour period since records began, said the Met office.
