ZAGREB, 17 JUNE 2019 – Specially designed washable cups will be used to reduce the use and throwing away of single-use plastics at both sold-out Foo Fighters concerts in Pula this week.
This is the first time such cups will be used at an event like this in Croatia. The cups, which will feature motifs of the band on them, are designed to be taken home as a souvenir from the biggest rock show this year in Croatia.
Concerts and festivals are places where there is an exceptionally large amount of single-use plastics used and thrown away, but the organisers of the Foo Fighters concerts in Croatia, LAA and Ožujsko Glazbena Točionica say they do not have to be.
“We are very proud and happy that this spectacle in Pula Arena will set new standards in the organisation of concerts and events of this type. Everyone on the other hand can and must face the big world initiatives of reducing the use and throwing away of single-use plastics at concerts and festivals. The responsibility lies with us all, and the guys from Foo Fighters, with whom this initiative was launched are also well aware of it. This is the first concert in Pula Arena, but also in Croatia, with washable cups, and certainly not the last,” organisers said.
The washable cups will be available at the concert at the bars inside the Arena as well as from the upper end of the amphitheatre where you will be able to order a drink. Concert goers can take the cups home with them, but also in the Arena there will be stations where staff will be collecting them from people who do not want to take them.
Foo Fighters will perform at Pula Arena on 18 and 19 June. Both concerts start at 21:15 Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes opening at 20:00. Arena will open at 18:00.
