The Croatian edition of Forbes magazine has declared the Istrian town of Porec as the best place to do business in Croatia. Since 2009 Forbes magazine have ranked Croatian cities on the basis of business success of companies that operate in them and also how effective the towns are for executing the city’s budget.
Porec moves from third place into the number one spot, knocking the town of Sveta Nedelja off the top perch. Porec’s investment into the health sector is immediately behind the capital Zagreb, even though Porec basically does not receive assistance from the central government. Porec scored highly on all of Forbes criteria, especially in investing in improving housing. The capital Zagreb, which was ranked second last year, fell to third place.
