The number of foreigners deciding to tie the knot in Croatia is on the up.
According to data from Croatia’s Ministry of Administration, in 2016 there were 20,544 marriages in Croatia, of which 479 were between foreign couples, and 1,394 involved one partner who was a foreign citizen.
These numbers represent growth from 2015 when there were 19,700 marriages, of which 393 were between foreign couples, and 1,271 involved one partner who was a foreign citizen.
The number of foreigners deciding to tie the knot in Croatia has been on the rise since 2008, Martina Rakić from agency Weddings in Croatia told vecernji.hr.
“Dubrovnik, Hvar and Istria stand out as the most attractive locations (for foreign weddings). The average number of guests for (foreign) weddings is around 60. The countries where people are most coming from to tie the knot in Croatia are the UK, USA and German speaking countries”, she says.
Because of the increase in foreign weddings in Croatia, Martina says there has been an increased demand for professional wedding planners.
