Indonesia’s national carrier Garuda Airlines have confirmed interest in a strategic partnership with Croatia Airlines, after delegates met with Croatia’s Minister of Transport Siniša Hajdaš Dončić in Indonesia this week, said a statement released by the Ministry.
Garuda officials presented its development plan, and expressed its interest to spread on the European market, the statement said. Garuda’s CEO Emirsyah Satar was quoted as saying that Croatia and Croatia Airlines is one of the logical choices for Garuda, especially with the Indonesian market developing quickly and more and more Indonesians now travelling to Europe.
Hajdaš Dončić explained that the government will issue a tender for interest in the sale of a stake in the financially strapped airline by the middle of October, followed by conditions of any sale. A maximum stake of 49% in Croatia Airlines will be available. Hajdaš Dončić ends his official visit to Indonesia tomorrow.
