SPLIT, 2 November 2020 – Former Croatia international Mario Stanić is no longer Hajduk Split Football Club’s advisor on sport policy, the club announced today.
Stanić, who was part of the 1998 World Cup team, leaves Hajduk Split less than one year after being named in the role. He will have no function at all now at the club.
“We wish Mr. Stanić a lot of luck and success in his further career,” the club said in a statement.

Last week, Hajduk Split named 44-year-old Lukša Jakobušić as the new President of the Board of HNK Hajduk.
“Born in Dubrovnik in 1976, Jakobušić was the President of VK Jug in the period from 2013 to 2017, and in that period the club won five trophies in one season, which until then wasn’t achieved by any sports club in the country, making him the most successful President in the great history of Jug. Jakobušić served as Vice President of HNK Hajduk from May to November 2019,” the club said.
Hajduk have made a poor start to the current season, winning just 3 of their first 8 games.
