Hajduk Split to be first in Europe to broadcast league matches live on club TV

Hajduk fans set record in UEFA Europa Conference League qualifier

Croatian football club HNK Hajduk Split and Hrvatski Telekom have launched a project in Croatia which is a first.

The club’s TV channel, HDTV (Hajduk Digital TV), available on the MAXtv platform, will provide Hajduk fans with an array of exclusive football content that has not been accessible on the HDTV app until now.

With this partnership, Hajduk Split becomes the first club in Europe to broadcast official top-league matches live on its club TV channel, the club said in a statement.

The HDTV channel is primarily dedicated to Hajduk and is now available on MAXtv on channel 411. Alongside MAXSport, it will broadcast all Hajduk matches, including top-league fixtures in the SuperSport HNL, domestic cup games, and European matches.

Depending on technical capabilities, it will also feature games from Hajduk’s junior and women’s teams.

Plans are already underway to expand and enrich the content available exclusively on the HDTV channel. Beyond Hajduk, selected matches from Dalmatian basketball, futsal, and handball teams will be aired, demonstrating support for Dalmatian sports.

A feature of the HDTV channel on MAXtv is the commentary team for Hajduk’s first-team matches, provided by Igor Ćurković and Tino Vela.

“We always strive to provide MAXtv users with access to top-tier sports content, and domestic football, which has become more exciting than ever in recent years, is certainly among them. This joint project between Hrvatski Telekom and Hajduk represents a new and modern media-sports platform and a significant step forward for Croatian club football. It will delight not only Hajduk fans but also anyone who enjoys good football and entertainment. HDTV, as the first club channel, innovatively combines the best of technology and fan passion, and we’re already seeing interest from other clubs in launching their channels on MAXtv,” said Krešimir Madunović, a member of the Management Board and Chief Operating Officer for Private Customers at Hrvatski Telekom.

The HDTV channel on MAXtv has been launched with the goal of promoting Croatian football further and will be available to subscribers for a monthly fee of €2.

“Hajduk has always been a trendsetter. We were the first to launch our OTT platform, and now we are the first club with its own television channel. Hrvatski Telekom has recognised the hard work and quality of HDTV, further enhancing our partnership with this initiative. From now on, our numerous fans and supporters can watch all Hajduk matches with our commentators. Additionally, we are preparing a wide range of engaging content covering various activities within the club. It is important to note that Hajduk will also benefit financially from this partnership, and we are confident that our loyal fans will recognise this project as another positive step towards new successes,” said Marinka Akrap, a member of Hajduk’s Management Board.

With its launch on the MAXtv platform, HDTV enters the next phase of its development, enabling live broadcasts of all Hajduk matches on the HDTV channel. Existing HDTV app users will have access to content through the HDTV video library with a time delay, while live matches and other exclusive content will only be available on the HDTV channel via MAXtv.

The first piece of exclusive content on HDTV will be an interview with the first-team coach, Gennaro Gattuso, airing today at 6 pm.
