Halilović’s Move to Barcelona in Limbo after FIFA Ban

Spanish giants Barcelona have been fined £306,000 and banned from making any transfers for the next two transfer windows after being found guilty of breaching transfer and registration rules, FIFA confirmed on Wednesday…
The Catalan club’s ban relates to the signings of 10 under-18 players, with the governing body confirming the ban is to do with “the international transfer of minors”. Wednesday’s decision now puts a question mark over one of Barcelona’s recent signings, Croatian Alen Halilović. The 17-year-old midfielder was set to join Barcelona in the summer after the club confirmed his signing last week from Dinamo Zagreb. The ban may mean Halilović has to see out one more year at Dinamo Zagreb, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
“FC Barcelona has been found to be in breach of article 19 of the regulations in the case of 10 minor players and to have committed several other concurrent infringements in the context of other players,” a FIFA statement read.
