Help the Croatian coastal town of Cavtat secure European Best Destination 2019 title

15 January 2019 – Voting has opened today in the race for the title of European Best Destination 2019.

One Croatian destination is in the running for this year’s title – the stunning seaside town of Cavtat. 

“Cavtat is located between the magical city of Dubrovnik on one side and the beautiful Konavle region on the other. There one can still feel the spirit of the past time and experience the centuries old tradition of our ancestors. It is an ideal holiday resort. Each visitor can discover his own wishes, enjoy the hidden coves at peace, long walks at the seaside or spend active holidays going in for recreational sports and entertaining cultural programs,” is how the town is described on the voting page.

Every year leading travel portal European Best Destinations organises the election of the best destination in Europe based on online voting from travellers and from 15 January 2019 to 5 February 2019, Cavtat will battle it out for the title with 19 other destinations, including Berlin, Geneva, Paris, Malaga, Athens, Bratislava, London, Vienna, Metz, Florence and Budapest. 

Two years ago, some big names got behind Zadar tourist board’s campaign to help secure the title of Best European Destination 2016, including Real Madrid star and Zadar’s own Luka Modrić who asked his fans on social media to support his hometown.
