Here are the most common baby names in Croatia for 2023

The Ministry of Justice and Administration has released a statistical overview of the 50 most common names given to children born from January 1 to December 31, 2023.
As Index Mame reports, a total of 32,770 babies were born in 2023, with 16,665 boys and 16,105 girls.
At the top of the list of names for boys is Luka, a name given to 650 boys last year, while Mia tops the list for girls, given to 422 girls last year.

The popularity of the name Rita is rising
Compared to 2022, Niko and Dora have dropped off the list of the top ten most popular names. Rita is the biggest surprise in the new statistics, jumping from seventh to third place, while the name Ivan was fifth last year and is now tied for tenth place with the name Fran.
