New Hajduk Split coach Igor Tudor has brought the Split club their first piece of silverware this season after just three weeks in the job. Hajduk Split have won the Croatian Cup on Wednesday night after drawing 3:3 with Zagreb side NK Lokomotiva at Maksimir stadium in the capital.
The 3:3 draw gave Hajduk Split a 5:4 win on aggregate after they won the first leg of the final at home 2:1. Hajduk Split’s 4,000 Torcida fans who travelled to Zagreb for the match were soon silenced when Mario Situm levelled the tie early in the match. Goals from Ivan Vukovic and Tino-Sven Susic gave Hajduk Split a 2:1 lead on the night before Andrej Kramaric equalised. Danijel Stojanovic then struck to eventually kill off the match.
It was the first time in 3 years and the 6th time Hajduk Split have lifted the ‘Golden Sun’ cup.
