“As soon as I set foot on this unique island, my stress levels instantly drop by 50 per cent.” This is a phrase you’ll often hear from visitors to the island of Ugljan—whether they are arriving for the first time or returning for the hundredth.

That same sense of tranquillity is evoked by the vision of the new hotel, set to open this summer in Kali on the island of Ugljan.

Hotel Kali, a four-star establishment, will feature 15 luxurious rooms and a spacious restaurant with a capacity of up to 150 guests.

Located next to the Church of St. Lawrence, right in the heart of the village, the hotel has impressive views of the Zadar archipelago, the city of Zadar, and the Velebit mountain range.

Hotel Kali is the result of an ambitious transformation of a former restaurant that had been out of operation for nearly 20 years, now turned into a haven of luxury and comfort.

While the hotel has been modernised and equipped to the highest standards, it retains the charm of a bygone era, proudly preserving the unique traditions of the region.

The architectural design was crafted by architects Sanja Leicher and Eduard Dukić from the Altrans studio in Zagreb, while the interior was brought to life by the renowned design duo from the Rock&Villa studio, Paulo Valčić and Stefan Relić.

Beyond accommodation, Hotel Kali’s restaurant will offer a gourmet dining experience centred around fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients.

Situated in the heart of the fishing village of Kali, the restaurant’s menu will reflect the area’s rich fishing heritage, ensuring that every meal is an opportunity to savour high-quality, locally sourced products.

Guests will have the chance to indulge in a variety of delicacies, including freshly caught fish, seafood, and locally grown fruit and vegetables from nearby family-run farms.
