IKEA To Open Designer Outlet Complex in Croatia

IKEA are set to invest a massive 88 million euros in building a Designer Outlet complex in Croatia…
IKEA, which opened in August 2014 and currently welcome over 1.5 million customers through its Zagreb store annually, have launched the first phase of the retail and leisure entertainment Designer Outlet Centre.
Designer Outlet Croatia will feature discounted luxury and secondary retail stores, including a DIY, a hyper market retail park, as well as fast food chains on over 50,000 sqm of space. It will be built on vacant land next to the current IKEA store in east Zagreb.
The architecture of the stores in the Designer Outlet Centre will be inspired by houses from the Croatian regions of Slavonia, Istria and Kvarner, Dalmatia, Zagreb and Croatia’s north-west. Over 400 new jobs are expected to be created once the complex is complete.
“The new Zagreb shopping destination combines shopping of furniture, fashion and lifestyle as well as outlet shopping in an unique way. It will be the the ultimate new shopping destination for locals and international tourists of Croatia,” the management company says.
Construction will start on the IKEA Designer Outlet in 2017, with opening date 2018. The largest outlet complex in Croatia, in cooperation with IKEA Centres, with be managed by well-known Austrian consultancy firm ROS Retail Outlet Shopping.
