ZAGREB, March 21, 2023 – Incubus, an alt rock band from Los Angeles, is coming to Croatia for the first time and will play at Zagreb’s Šalata Stadium on Friday, June 9, 2023.
Incubus is coming to Zagreb as part of a big world tour and the premiere performance of one of the most famous alter bands on the city’s favourite stage in the centre of town will mark a great introduction to the summer season.
The band was formed in 1991, and since then Incubus has embarked on a constant upward trajectory and left an indelible mark on the alternative music scene. They became one of the most popular bands of the genre, standing out from others with their ethics and a wide range of sounds to which they added heavy metal, funk, jazz, hip-hop, techno and post-grunge.
To date, the Californian band has sold 23 million albums worldwide, achieved multi-platinum sales, and their albums are regularly in the top five of Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart. At the same time, the band’s phenomenon has spread to streaming services, where they count an average of 4.1 million listeners per month, as well as more than a billion streaming songs on various platforms.
They released eight studio albums, as well as five live albums, while four singles, “Drive”, “Megalomaniac”, “Anna Molly” and “Love Hurts”, cemented their position at number one on the Billboard alternative songs chart.
They also received a Grammy nomination for the best Hard Rock performance for the song “Megalomaniac”. Incubus has been an essential part of major world festivals such as Ozzfest, Lollapalooza, Rock In Rio, Air + Style, Download and Pinkpop, and shared stages and tours with bands such as Beastie Boys, The Police Linkin Park, OutKast, Moby, Jane’s Addiction, Queens of the Stone Age, Deftones and many others.
After the album “Fungus Amongus” from 1995 and “S.C.I.E.N.C.E.” that followed, the band was launched into the mainstream with 1999’s “Make Yourself.” It featured the mega-hit single “Drive,” as well as “Pardon Me” and “Stellar,” and was included on the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die list, and Metal Hammer listed it among the best metal albums of that year. Success continued with “Morning View”, marked by the singles “Wish You Were Here” and “Nice to Know You”, and the album “A Crow Left of the Murder…”.
The successor to “Light Grenades” ended up at number one on the Billboard album chart, followed in 2011 by “If Not Now, When?”. The latest album “8”, announced by the single “Nimble Bastard”, on which Skrillex also worked as a producer, shows the desire to explore and the current state of mind.
Almost three decades after their debut, Brandon Boyd as vocalist, Mike Einziger on guitar, drummer Jose Pasillas II, DJ and keyboardist Chris Kilmore and Ben Kenney on bass, come to show their version of rock music, and the audience will be able to experience it on June 9 at Šalata Stadium at their premiere concert in Croatia.
