Infinum and Porsche Digital investing €10m in their joint company in Zagreb

ZAGREB, Sept 8 (Hina) – The Zagreb-based Infinum, which builds digital products, and Porsche Digital, Porsche AG-owned subsidiary which serves as its digital competence centre, are setting up Porsche Digital Croatia, a company for development of artificial intelligence and software.
The joint investment amounts to 10 million euros, executives of Infinum and Porsche Digital said at a news conference in Zagreb on Tuesday.
The new company, which will have its offices in Zagreb’s Strojarska Ulica Street, will start doing business in late September.
Infinum management board chairman Tomislav Car told the news conference that the plans of these two investors were to employ 100 experts in the new company in the next three years and that those specialists would be tasked with designing software and products and services for upgrading digital ecosystems.
The Zagreb-based IT company and the Ludwigsburg-based Porsche Digital will have an equal ownership interest in the new company.
The Infinum leader Car underscores that auto industries are adjusting themselves more and more to new technologies and business models, “and we see in that an opportunity for our development.”
“We can also conduct joint research of new business models of the Porsche brand and other brands, such as VW,” Car said.
Stefan Zerweck, Chief Operating Officer of Porsche Digital, expressed satisfaction with the opening of the company jointly owned by Infinum and Porsche and described it as a strategic enterprise for the expansion of the global innovation ecosystem.
Zerweck said that Infinum had everything which this Germany company looked for: local recognisability, awards for its work in big-scale and complex projects for global clients, as well as the practice of investment in the education of its employees.
Ralph Knoll, Chief Finance Office of Porsche Digital, expressed optimism about this investment and doing business in the Croatian capital.
He is hopeful that this partnership will attract talents in Zagreb ad Croatia and make the country an attractive destination for auto industries.
