Interview: Sail Week Croatia

Skippered sailing holiday company Sail Week Croatia have just completed their first season. Croatia Week talks to two of the owners, Vincent Radonic and Ante Zivkovic, about how it all went.

What were the highlights of the first year? Seeing the smiles on everyone’s face and getting positive feedback on our service. For us it is very important to know that people are having a great time and that we are showing the best parts of sailing in Croatia. For example, one person that was originally very reluctant on going with Sail Week Croatia as he had already sailed that area twice in the last two years, ended up saying and posting on his Facebook profile “the best week of my life”.

What was the craziest moment of the summer?  We had come across some ambitious climbers and cliff divers on our yachts. One week around 15 people (girls and guys) decided to jump from this spot that was around 10 metres high in this beautiful cove in Vis. Our photographer climbed up with them and captured some amazing shots.

What are your plans for next year? We have made some interesting tweaks on our main route Central Dalmatian route (Split – Hvar – Vis) for 2014. This will be our Island Hopping offer that will run for the entire season. It aims to provide a combination of fun, seeing new things, top Croatian food & wine and relaxing. On top of that we will be offering bespoke trips for people wanting the whole boat. Where we can do the Split to Dubrovnik route plus much, much more, i.e. customers will be able to pick what type and quality of yacht, i.e. from a monohull to a catamaran. The combinations are endless. This would suit families to stag/hen parties. Also we are working with some interesting parties to deliver some special weeks focused on things like following Croatian vineyards, festivals, lifestyle/relaxation etc. Watch this space.

Sail Week Croatia managed to take their customers to some amazing places. What was your favorite beach? That would be telling?? Every lagoon, beach, cove was special in its own way as they offered different things. From the blue caves in Bisevo to the secluded little gems in Vis and Brac. Ante and Vincent also mentioned that they were very happy and thankful to the amazing people who joined them on their journey for the first summer and hope to continue giving people wonderful holidays.
