Inventors Gather in Croatia

More than 200 inventions from around the world are on show in the Croatian capital Zagreb after the 11th international exhibition of inventions (ARCA) opened on Thursday at the National Library.
The exhibition not only features inventions from Croatia, but also a host of other countries around the world, including Hungary, Iran, Slovenia, Poland, Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Croatia is set to adpot new laws by the end of 2013 which will strengthen the legislative and institutional framework for inventions, the operation of innovative companies and investment in inventions. The government continues to focus on supporting innovative enterprises, and the Enterprise Ministry announced that it had given more than 10 million euros in grants for over 120 projects recently.
At Thursday’s opening the president of the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), Andras Vedres, said that Croatia and its inventors were recognised around the world for the quality and applicability of their inventions, with 27 Croats having been awarded ‘knights of invention’ titles out of the 112 issued.
