Hajduk Split are still on the lookout for a new coach to replace Igor Tudor, who resigned after falling out with the club last week, and reports suggest that they may turn to an Italian who has had the job before…
Edoardo “Edy” Reja, who had a relatively successful stint in charge at the Poljud club from August 2009 to February 2010 before he left to take up a job at Napoli, had not ruled out a return.
“I have nothing new to add, everything is still completely open. I need more time to make a decision, it is not that simple,” Reja told a Slobodna Dalmacija reporter on Monday, confirming that he was in talks with the club.
“I have big feelings towards Hajduk, and I think people see me as someone positive, and they want me. That is nice,” Reja said.
Fluent in three languages, Reja has also managed at Lazio, Genoa, Cagilari and Lecce amongst others.
