Ivan Perišić: “It is in our hands, we can do it”

One of Croatia’s standout players from their 4-0 drubbing of Cameroon last Thursday, Wolfsburg’s Ivan Perišić, believes victory against Mexico on Monday is in their hands…
“Mexico play fast, quality football, they play as a team without many individual stars and play with their hearts for their country. Nevertheless, if Croatia play like against Cameroon, we will have a chance. Ochoa kept fantasticly against Brazil, but we have the players who can score,” said Perišić, before adding.
“The climate will suit them, they definitely have an advantage there. Mexico for most of the match against Brazil were the better side, but so were we too. It is all in our hands, we will try to win and we must be careful about Mexico’s excellent strikers. I think we can do it,” said the scorer of Croatia’s second goal last Thursday.
“I have always given 100% for Croatia, but it has not always been how I wanted. I was missing a few goals, to relax me, and now with each match I am getting better and better. I am fit, in form, and I hope that lasts,” concluded Perišić. (pic: Drago Sopta / HNS)
