Ivan Rakitić leaves Barcelona and returns to Sevilla

1 September 2020 – Croatian international Ivan Rakitic has left Barcelona after six years and will continue his career at his former club, Sevilla, the club confirmed on its official website.
In a post on the official website this afternoon, Sevilla confirmed that Rakitić had signed a four-year contract with club.

Rakitić was at Sevilla from 2011-2014, where he made 149 appearances in all competitions, and as captain led the club to the Europa League title in the 2013-14 season.
“You will always form part of our history, thank you so much and good luck,” his former club Barcelona said today.
Rakitić made more than 300 appearances for Barcelona and won a number of trophies with the club.

Rakitić, who scored 25 goals during his spell at the Camp Nou, won the treble of La Liga, Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League in his first season.
