Ivo Karlovic Denied Wimbledon Wildcard

Croatian tennis player Ivo Karlovic has been left disappointed after hearing the news that his wildcard request for this year’s Wimbledon tournament has been refused.
Karlovic, who was hoping to make his comeback at the All England club after spending time in hospital with viral meningitis earlier this year, simply said ‘No Love’ upon hearing the bad news.
Tournament organisers obviously were not casting their minds back to 2001 when they were issuing this year’s wildcards. In 2001 fellow Croat Goran Ivanisevic was given a wildcard entry to the tournament he ended up winning. Perhaps it was Karlovic’s public rant at tournament officials last year, when he accused them of deliberately favouring home hope Andy Murray when they repeated called him for foot faults, that swayed the organisers decision.
