January Sees 15% Rise in Tourists

If the start of the year is anything to go by, then 2014 could well be a record-breaking year for tourism in Croatia…
Croatia has enjoyed double-digit growth in January this year, with 124,000 arrivals in the first month of the year. Compared to the same month in 2013, tourist arrivals has grown by a massive 15.2%, according to data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics. Overnight stays were also up 12.4% with tourists staying longer also. Tourists from Italy made up 15.7% of total tourists, followed by tourists from neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina (11.7%), Austria (9.5%), and Germany and Slovenia.
