Job Attracts 16,000 Applications in Just 5 Days

Croatia’s concerning unemployment rate has been highlighted by the fact that more than 16,000 have applied for a job advertised by one of the country’s largest companies…
Agrokor, who own Croatia’s largest supermarket chain Konzum as well as a number of food brands, says in just five days more than 16,500 have applied for an intern position at the company. It is still unclear what process the firm will take to select the few hundred interns it is looking for. Back in 2011 the firm took on around 400 interns for 3 month contracts, with around 15,000 applying back then. Croatia has a reported 380,000 people unemployed, with youth unemployment at around 50 percent.
