Korea-Croatia Business Forum set to take place

The 10th Korea-Croatia Business Forum will be held on Thursday 17th November at the Esplanade Zagreb Hotel organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Zagreb in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of the Republic of Croatia, Croatian Chamber of Economy, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Zagreb, and Croatian-Korean Business Club.
This forum has been annually held in Zagreb since 2013 with the main aim of promoting partnerships between business people of Korea and Croatia. So far, themes such as energy, infrastructure, ICT, tourism, cosmetics, and public procurement were discussed during the previous years’ forums.
As this year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Croatia, this year’s Forum will focus on the theme of “Commemorating 30 years of economic ties: Achievements in the past, present and future.” Through its program, the Forum will evaluate the current level of business cooperation between the two countries and explore ways of further strengthening business partnerships and cooperation considering the great business opportunities lying ahead.
The Forum will start with the opening remarks of H.E. Mr. Hong Sungwook, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Croatia, followed by the remarks by Mr. Željko Reiner, Deputy Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, Mr. Hrvoje Bujanović, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Zdenko Lucić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, and Ms. Marina Rožić, Secretary General of the Croatian Chamber of Economy.
Mr. Boris Vujčić, Governor of the Croatian National Bank, will be the keynote speaker of the Forum, and he will speak about the business opportunities in Croatia after joining Eurozone and Schengen. Mr. Chae Heekwang, Director of KOTRA Zagreb will make an overview on business relationships between Korea-Croatia, and Mrs. Ana Čulo, Head of Investments Sector at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of the Republic of Croatia will talk about investment opportunities in Croatia. Mr. Park Hyoung Min, President of Samsung Electronics Adriatic (SEAD) will present Samsung Electronic’s achievements and future plans in Croatia and Adriatic region, and Mr. Denis Vukorepa, Executive Director at the Port of Rijeka Authority, will present Korean EDCF Project at the Port of Rijeka and future opportunities. Mr. Zoran Horvat, President of the Croatian-Korean Business Club, will be wrapping up the Forum with success stories and the possible ways forward in bilateral business partnership between Korea and Croatia.
There also will be a donation ceremony of 3,000 pieces of Medical Patch for children donated to the Children’s Hospital Zagreb by the Korean Health & Beauty company Wooshin Labottach.
The Forum will take place at Esplanade Zagreb Hotel, Emerald Hall at 10:00 a.m. on 17th November 2022, registration starting from 09:30 a.m. The event includes a networking luncheon after the Forum.
