The ceremonial annual dance concert of the LADO Ensemble will be held on November 9 in the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb.
The 70-minute program of traditional dances and musical numbers was prepared by the artistic director Krunoslav Šokac.
The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy the joyfully performed choreographies from LADO’s repertoire such as Prigorski plesovi, Valpovački kola and Linđo, and the audience will be able to see live the restored Split folk costumes choreographed by Stari splitski plesovi.
“Taking into account the still valid anti-epidemic measures, and above all the health of the audience and artists of the LADO ensemble, the program is designed as a combination of dance and vocal-instrumental works. After the annual concerts in 2020 were canceled, this time the program will be performed by a smaller number of artists while still maintaining a high quality of performance. The program will be accompanied by visualizations by Ivan Lušičić in which a part from the photo libraries of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and the Ethnographic Museum Zagreb was used,” said Šokac.
The LADO ensemble is constantly working on expanding and enriching its repertoire and at the concert will premiere two musical numbers from Hrvatsko Zagorje – Ftičica je letala in the arrangement of Mladen Kosovac and Ideja mužikaši in the arrangement of Božo Potočnik.
