ZAGREB, Dec 27 (Hina) – Residents of the Istrian town of Sveti Lovrec organised their annual outdoor live nativity presentation on Thursday evening, when Saint Stephen’s Day was observed, with a few hundred participants taking part in the largest recreation of a live nativity scene in Croatia.
This is the tenth year in a row for this medieval Istrian town to stage live nativity scenes in the square outside St. Martin’s Church, and local residents and more than 150 volunteers/extras took part in the event.
During the Christmas holidays, guest and tourists can visit the scene and get an insight into reenacted medieval crafts, such as blacksmithing, carpentry, broom-making, beekeeping, herb collecting and so on.
The presentation of the live nativity in Sveti Lovrec is also scheduled for Sunday, 29 December, and for 6 January, when Epiphany or Three Kings’ Day is observed.
Apart from this Istrian town, other towns in Croatia, too, prepare presentations of live nativity scenes during the Christmas holidays.
