LATEST: 37 new COVID-19 cases in Croatia confirmed on Wednesday, 58 recoveries

ZAGREB April 15 (Hina) – There have been 37 newly confirmed cases of the COVID-19 infection, 58 patients have recovered, and three coronavirus-related deaths have been registered in the last 24 hours in Croatia, the national crisis management team said at a news conference on Wednesday.

The total number of positive cases since 25 February, when Croatia registered its first case of COVID-19, has risen to 1,741.

The total number of fatalities is 34.

Doctor Maja Grba-Bujevic told the news conference that the latest three fatalities were elderly citizens with underlying health conditions. At KBC Split, a 98-year-old female and 73-year-old male patient died, while a 74-year-old male died at a retirement home in Dubrovnik. 

To date, 19,2656 samples have been tested, including 897 in the last 24 hours. The number of recoveries has risen by 58 to 473.

As many as 15,059 persons are in self-isolation.
