Latest FIFA Rankings: Croatia drops one place

19 September 2019 – Croatia has dropped one place on the latest FIFA Rankings which where released on Thursday.
After a 4-0 win against Slovakia and a 1-1 draw with Azerbaijan in EURO 2020 qualifying, Croatia has dropped to 8th in the world, down one place from last month’s rankings.
Belgium have retained the no.1 ranking, ahead of World Cup winners France and Brazil. Spain jumped two places to take Croatia’s old ranking place of no.7.
There were 78 friendly matches and 134 qualifying matches played in September.
Croatia’s EURO 2020 group opponents Wales moved up one place to no.23, whilst Slovakia moved up to no.27. Hungary, who Croatia will meet next in Split in October, dropped five places to no.50. Azerbaijan, who shocked Croatia last week, remained at no.109.
The next FIFA Rankings will be published on 24 October.
