The Croatian National Bank will release a commemorative 2-euro coin called “The Old Town of Varaždin” on 2 July 2024, the Croatian Mint has confirmed.
This coin is part of the “Croatian cities” series and features a famous building in Varaždin with historical and cultural significance, previously depicted on the 5-kuna banknote.
A total of 200,000 coins will be issued. The design, created by academic sculptor Stjepan Divković, was minted by the Croatian Mint Ltd.
Starting from 2 July 2024, interested citizens can obtain this coin at commercial banks and the Croatian National Bank (located at Jurišićeva 17, Zagreb, open Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM).
To ensure wide availability, the Croatian National Bank will limit exchanges to five coins per person in the first few weeks.
Commercial banks are advised to follow the same limit.
The Croatian Mint will offer the coin in blister packaging, with pre-orders starting 2 July on their website, limited to ten packs per person per transaction. These blister packs will be delivered starting in September based on order dates.
Domestic legal entities can pre-order by contacting the Croatian Mint’s sales department at [email protected].
