The sick little girl who touched the hearts of a nation is on a plane today heading for potential life-saving treatment in Philadelphia, thanks to the generosity and good will of the Croatian people.
More than 550,000 euros was raised in under a week for Nora Situm (5) after her story went viral via social media a few days ago. Little Nora is suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia and her only hope doctors say for life is expensive treatment in the US.
Nora flew out of Zagreb International Airport on Thursday morning at 10:00am accompanied by her parents Dana and Ivica and her doctors. “Nora still does not know she is all of Croatia’s hero, she understands something is happening, but she is not clear about the whole situation. We are here to farewell our little princess on her trip – a trip to uncertainty,” said Nora’s grandfather at the airport.
