In Croatia 53% of women and 58% of men are married, or just over 2 million people. 97,000 people live in de facto relationships, whilst 140 say they are in same-sex relationships, according to details released from the nation’s latest census.
The statistics reveal that the most amount of unmarried women in Croatia live on the Adriatic coast. Smokvica on the island of Korcula tops the list, followed by the town of Blato on the same island. The island of Hvar is next, with Zagreb in 5th place. Motovun and Mali Losinj also feature in the top 10. The most amount of unmarried men are found in continental Croatia with the Osijek county in number one place with 19%.
