The trophies keep rolling in for Luka Modric.
The Croatia captain has added another FIFA Club World Cup to the list on Saturday after his Real Madrid side beat South American champions Gremio 1-0 in the final of the 2017 FIFA Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi.
A wonderful 53rd-minute strike from Cristiano Ronaldo put the European champions ahead.
Modric came close to doubling the lead for Real but his strike hit the post with just over 20 minutes remaining. Although they failed to add to the score, Real Madrid was deserved of their win after dominating the final.

It was Real Madrid’s sixth FIFA Club World Cup, and a third for Modric, who also won it in 2014 and 2016. In 2016 Modric picked up the Silver Ball award for the tournament’s second best player and this year he went one better and took away the Golden Ball as the tournament’s best player.
Modric adds three FIFA Club World Cups to the three UEFA Champions League trophies he has won with Real Madrid.
