Croatia’s Salona Yachts has presented in Split its new and unique luxury yacht in the world, the SALONA 46.
The first Croatian electric yacht is unique on the world market also because it is equipped with two electric motors and patented Servoprop engines manufactured by OceanVolt, which allows it to have outstanding sailing performance and simultaneous battery charging.
“We have implemented a completely new electric propulsion that has two electric motors in its system that practically help us to hydro-regenerate battery capacities during sailing at a much higher speed,” says Marin Donadini, director of Solin-Based Salona yachts.
Salona 46 is fitted with an electric engine that has 10 hours of autonomy at the speed of 6.5 knots or a maximum speed of 8.5 knots and 3 hours of sailing.
When the ship sails, it generates electricity again, and from a completely empty battery to a fully charged one, it needs about 20 hours of sailing at a speed of five and a half, six knots.
The new Salona 46 combines the best elements of technology, design, quality, and comfort and is built to be solid but lightweight, as a result of advanced construction techniques.
The hull and deck are produced in vacuum infusion in vinyl ester resin which results beyond the expected sailing performance.
“It is important to note that Salona is extremely dedicated to the development, support, and implementation of green technology and the promotion of environmentally friendly luxury vessels. Salona’s team, in cooperation with suppliers, develops and delivers to customers the best green solutions currently available on the market, which makes a big step forward in the global luxury boat market,” the shipyard said.
This Croatian product is a combination of ecology and luxury. At Salona’s shipyard, they will produce about 20 of them a year. The first ship has already traveled to a buyer in the United States.
