Magnitude 4.1 tremor jolts central Croatia

ZAGREB, 24 February (Hina) – Croatia’s Seismological Survey recorded a magnitude 4.1 earthquake near Glinske Poljane in central Croatia at 10.58 am on Wednesday.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said the quake measured 4.3 on the Richter scale and that the epicentre was 14 km west of Sisak.
There have already been some reports of damage to buildings in Petrinja. You can see a video of part of a building falling here.
“It lasted about 5 seconds, everything was calm and only on one of the windows began to creak. There were no people in this part, passing is forbidden there,” a witness said.
The tremor was felt in Zagreb too.

Central Croatia was struck by a magnitude 6.2 earthquake on 29 December, killing seven people and causing enormous damage.
