Marin Čilić Beats Andy Murray to Win Masters 1000 in Cincinnati

Croatia’s No. 1 tennis player Marin Čilić has won his first Masters 1000 series tournament…
Čilić beat 3-time Grand Slam and current Olympic champion Andy Murray in the final of the Cincinnati Masters on Sunday 6-4, 7-5.
Čilić, who was making his first appearance in a Masters final, broke Murray twice in the first set and gave up one break to take it out 6-4. In the second set both players managed to hold their serve until the 11th game when the Croatian broke Murray to go up 6-5. Čilić then made no mistake in serving for the match and claimed his first Masters title.
Roger Federer’s cuurent coach Ivan Ljubičić was the last Croatian to win a Masters series tournament when he won in Indian Wells six yers ago.
There was more good news in Cincinnati for the Croatians as Ivan Dodig took out the doubles final with his Brazilian partner Marcelo Melo. Dodig and Melo beat Netherlands Jean-Julien Rojer and Romanian Horia Tecău 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (5-7), 10-6 in a thriller.
