31 January 2020 – Croatian tennis star Marin Cilic (31) has become a father for the first time on Friday.
Cilic’s wife Kristina gave birth to a baby boy on Friday at the Sisters of Charity Hospital in Zagreb.
The Croatian Tennis Association congratulated the new parents on social media. “Marin’s wife Kristina this morning gave birth to a baby boy which will beautify the start of the new tennis season:”
Daily Jutarnji list said the birth went smoothly without any complications at all.
Cilic had been in Melbourne this month where he reached the last 16 of the Australian Open before being knocked out by Milos Raonic last Sunday.
Cilic married his long-time girlfriend Kristina Milkovic in Cavtat in the summer of 2018. The couple tied the knot at Sveti Nikola Church in Cavtat, southeast of Dubrovnik, in front of family and friends.
Cilic, who climbed to a career-high ranking of No.3 in the world in 2018, has won 18 ATP singles titles, including a Grand Slam title at the 2014 US Open. He also won the Davis Cup with Croatia in 2018.
