Marin Čilić has sent Croatia throught to the Davis Cup World Group play-offs in September after he beat Jerzy Janowicz to give Croatia a 3-1 victory over Poland in Warsaw on Sunday…
Čilić had to come from two sets down to beat Poland’s number one in a thrilling match which ended 3-6, 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-1, 6-3 in the Croatians favour. It was not a happy tie for Poland’s number one seed, after he was beaten on Friday by 17-year-old Borna Ćorić, who was making his Davis Cup debut for Croatia. Argentina, Australia, Serbia, Spain and the United States are among those also in the World Group Play-offs. The draw will be held in London on 8 April.
