Dive watch micro-brand MARNAUT has launched their first showroom in the town of Supetar on the island of Brač in Croatia.
“I am from Brač, and growing up, I spent my summers here. It feels natural to have our first showroom so close to home and the sea. The watches and the essence of the brand are inspired by this dramatic seascape. Croatia is so full of beautiful islands, I think it’s fitting that we have our showroom in an interesting, semi-obscure spot on our island,” says MARNAUT founder Mario Jutronic.
The showroom is distinctly oceanic and stays true to the island’s heritage, with a palette of limestone, navy, and white Brač stone has inspired artists and emperors through history, and features in iconic buildings across Europe, with stone cutting and marble carving being longstanding and much celebrated skills in the region.
“The display tables and watch stands are made from limestone that the island is famous for. Every detail is as local as possible and also as unique as possible. We are very excited to welcome our customers to our new showroom. The space represents much of what we stand for as a brand – being original and authentic to our roots and celebrating the spirit of exploration. We look forward to connecting with fellow watch enthusiasts in this iconic setting,” says Jutronic, who started the MARNAUT brand in 2018 when he lived in Hong Kong with good success.
Jutronic moved back to Croatia to his home in Sutivan on Brač a few years ago and has been re-launching the brand on his home island.
MARNAUT uses the highly regarded Swiss automatic SW200 movement.
“Our motto is Croatian Design – Swiss Movement – Made in German. What ties the brand with Croatia is the design aesthetic. The focal point of the watch is inspired by the exoskeleton of the sea urchin. The texture and symmetry can be found on each dial and we can say without hesitation that it is a unique dial – an original. The other thing that ties the brand with Croatia is that each watch model has coordinates printed on the dial reflecting a location that inspired that particular model,” he adds.
The new space in Supetar doubles as an office and a showroom. The showroom is open daily from 17:00 – 22:00 and from 9:30-12:30 by appointment only. To find our more or book an appointment you can visit their website at: www.marnaut.com/appointment.
