The Miss Universe pageant will take place on 18th November in Mexico, marking the return of the event to a country that has hosted it several times before.
Miss Universe brings together the most beautiful and accomplished women from around the world, competing for the title of the most beautiful woman globally, with the mission of inspiring positive social change.
This year, over 130 contestants are expected, competing in several categories.
Zrinka Ćorić, the reigning Miss Universe Croatia, will represent her country at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant.
Zrinka, originally from Dubrovnik, is a graduate of the High School of Medicine and is fluent in English.
She draws inspiration from fashion and photography, and in her spare time, she enjoys fitness, reading about modern psychology, and travelling to create new memories and experience fre
edom.
Actively involved in humanitarian work, Zrinka contributes to helping both children and adults while also promoting environmental care.
Her participation in Mexico brings an extra layer of excitement, as Zrinka’s role at this prestigious event is not just as a contestant; she will also be an ambassador for Croatia, showcasing the beauty and culture of her nation to a global audience.
“I’m going through intense preparations that include training, perfecting stage presence and language skills, working on my presentation and interview technique, as well as a humanitarian project that I won’t reveal just yet.
I expect this competition to be an opportunity not only to represent Croatia on the world stage but also to promote values that are important to me, such as education, sustainable development, and women’s empowerment. I look forward to gaining new experiences, learning about different cultures, and I hope to represent my country with dignity, inspiring others with my energy and dedication,” she stated.
While preparing for the global competition, we caught up with our beauty queen in Rijeka, where she was modelling at a fashion show held on the stone steps near the Grand Hotel Bonavia.
The show featured designs by Miau Couture, GiVa design by Kristina Zorčić, Boutique Rival design, Irena Anđelić Devčić, Damir TAU, Croatian brand Calico Mood, Selin Boutique, LU LU design, LUZAR by Marina Sičić Oštarić, students from the School of Commerce and Fashion Design in Rijeka, and fourteen members of the Textile and Leather Section of the Rijeka Crafts Association, along with guests from other associations.
The Rijeka Steps are one of the city’s most recognisable locations, becoming a focal point each year when they host glamorous fashion collections.
Over the years, they have become a symbol of elegance and urban beauty. This fashion show brings together Croatian designers, models, and numerous fashion enthusiasts. The shows are particularly striking due to the unique setting – the steps transformed into a runway offer a spectacular visual experience.
Miss Universe Croatia often participates in these fashion shows, either as a special guest or as a model showcasing collections by renowned designers. Their presence adds an extra touch of glamour and draws media attention.
Participation in these shows is not just about displaying beauty, but also symbolises the connection between fashion, culture, and beauty – a perfect blend of urban charm and high fashion.
