Slayer and Anthrax, along with Metallica and Megadeth, make up the ‘big 4’ of the biggest thrash metal bands in history…
Metal giants Slayer and Anthrax will perform on the same stage on the same night for the first time in Croatia this summer.
Slayer and Anthrax will play at Zagreb show grounds (Velesajam – pavilion 9) on 1 June 2016, agency LAA advertised on their Facebook page. Slayer and Anthrax will perform in Zagreb as part of their world tour to promote their new albums after a long break.
Both bands will return to Croatia exactly 3 years after they last visited. Slayer performed in June 2013 at Zagreb’s Tvornica Kulture, whilst Anthrax played at Zagreb Arena a month later in the same year.
From California, Slayer formed in 1981 and rose to fame with its 1986 release Reign in Blood. Four of the band’s studio albums have received gold certification in the United States and they received five Grammy nominations, winning one in 2007 for the song “Eyes of the Insane”, and one in 2008 for the song “Final Six”. Between 1991 and 2013, the band sold 4.9 million albums in the United States.
Anthrax, who also formed in 1981, sold 2.5 million records in the United States from 1991 to 2004, with worldwide sales of 10 million.
Tickets for the concert go on sale on 29 February 2016 at the early bird price of 190kn. Ticket prices will increase to 220kn from 10 March 2016 and will cost 250kn on the day of the concert.
