There is never ‘good timing’ when it comes to an injury, but for Croatia, Luka Modrić’s ruptured left quadricep, which he sustained in last night’s 1-1 draw with Italy, could have happened at a worse time….
Croatia team doctor Boris Nemec expects Modrić will be out of action for at least 6 weeks after rupturing his left quadricep early in last night’s draw at the San Siro. Croatia’s playmaker was forced from the field in the 26th minute after rupturing the muscle whilst challenging for a ball. Nemec says that he will undergo a MRI scan today to see the full extent of the injury, but will most likely be out for the rest of 2014, reports Index.
Croatia next play a EURO 2016 qualifier in March 2015, meaning the Real Madrid midfielder will not miss any international action.
