For the third year in a row Real Madrid’s Luka Modrić has won the ‘Football Oscar’ for the best Croatian footballer…
Modrić was presented the award by former Croatia captain Zvonimir Boban at a ceremony last night in the capital Zagreb.
“I am extremely honoured, as much as I was the first time I won it. I want to thank the players and coaches from my heart, and this year’s Oscar I will especially remember because I received the award from my childhood idol, Zvonimir Boban. This season was a tough one for me, there were some great play and achievements, but also a lot of disappointments with injuries,” said Modrić, before wishing teammate Ivan Rakitić luck in winning the Champions League with Barcelona this weekend.
