The relationship between Monaco and Croatia has just got tighter with a donation by the Principality to the tune of 225,000 euros to help clear mines in Mošćenica…
There have been 16 deaths from mine explosions in Mošćenica, located 50kms southeast of the capital Zagreb, since the 1990’s war in the country, and the money will be used to clear over 225,000 square metres of area near the Kotor Suma woods in the area. Monaco and Croatia first established relations back in 2000 when Monaco agreed to help clear mine-infested areas in Croatia. Since then Monaco has helped Croatia to remove landmines from nature and national parks: Kopacki Rit, Velebit and Paklenica.
