Most beautiful Croatian in folk costume outside Croatia 2024 – apply now

Women of Croatian origin from all over the world are again invited to compete for the title of the Most Beautiful Croatian in National Folk Costume Outside of Croatia.

The Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Croatian Traditional Culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina “Stećak,” in collaboration with the Croatian Heritage Foundation, is organising the 11th edition of the Traditional Clothing Fashion Show and the contest for the most beautiful Croatian woman in national costume outside the Republic of Croatia. 

The event will take place from July 8th to July 14th, 2024, in Tomislavgrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The aim of this program is to bring together Croatians from all over the world to promote our common traditional culture and to acquaint and support Croatians in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in strengthening and preserving their national and cultural identity. 

Participants in previous fashion shows and competitions included Croatian women representing Croatian diaspora communities from various European countries as well as from North and South America, Australia, New Zealand, and representatives of Croatian minority communities. 

Rules for participation:

Women perform in the traditional costume of the region they come from or their ancestors. If a contestant does not have the costume of her region, she can perform in a costume chosen by herself or the society she represents.

Women must be between 18 and 32 years old.

Each contestant can bring one person/companion to assist her in dressing, grooming, etc. Girls are not allowed to bring boyfriends or fiancés as their companions.

Contestants and companions are provided with free accommodation, meals, transportation to excursions and presentations, and other related expenses during their stay at the project.

Contestants and companions are not provided with travel expenses to and from Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, a special free bus will be provided from Zagreb to Tomislavgrad (and back to Zagreb) for all girls traveling through Zagreb.

After registration and before the competition, all contestants must send two photos in national costume to the organizer: one portrait and one full-length photo of the contestant. Submitted photos will be used for the selection of Miss Photogenicity through the Association “Stećak” websites and Facebook pages preceding the Fashion Show and election.

On July 11th, an artistic photo shoot of the girls will be organized. Professional photographs will be taken, and each girl will receive her photo in national costume – printed on canvas size 50×70 cm.

The winner will be declared the most beautiful Croatian woman in national costume outside the Republic of Croatia, and along with her, the 1st and 2nd runners-up will be announced and awarded appropriate prizes.

Each country can be represented by a maximum of two representatives representing Croatian communities and organizations, and representatives from Bosnia and Herzegovina will coordinate directly with the organizer – Stećak.

Participants of the Fashion Show, by accepting the rules of participation, waive any claims against the organizer for compensation for any form of damage that may occur during the implementation of the 11th Fashion Show program.
